Today I had enough! My NAS or MyBook World by Western Digital had a network failure and stopped connecting with my, well.. network!
Thought I will admit there warranty service was good, and had a brand new one shipped out the next day! Problem was that the hard drive was fine and I would have liked to pull the info off the drive and put it onto the new NAS Drive.
I tried using the USB in the back and attaching it to the the old drive, but it would not show up!? For some reason the MyBook Worlds will bot USB connect with each other?! And I know this because I tried it with a separate external Hard Drive I have, and that showed up in the web panel for MyBook.
After many, many attempts and trips to Radioshack for the correct USB cable and trips to PC Mall, for the real correct USB-A Male to Male connector… nothing. Continue reading ‘Taking Apart MyBook World’
I can’t take it any more! The devil child that live’s in the apartment building next door is too loud, and cry’s way too much. I am going to file a noise complaint. I am usually a nice guy and will ignore the fact that it is a little baby. But… The parents just leave it in the bedroom every morning for at least a half hour before attempting to nurture it.
Plus it does’t just cry, it some how learned to have that annoying 2 year old temper tantrum voice! Little shit. Maybe I wouldn’t be so mad if the parents would also close the window, and not leave the little devil under an open window in Santa Monica, hello! It’s like 55° out at night now!
I recently met a really nice guy at the 2008 Blog World Expo; . And I thought it to be one of the best exhibits at the hall of 100+ exhibits….
But after careful examination and prodding by myself and Jeana ( @JeanaSays.com ( my GFreind ) )
We decided that although the site allowed both pictures and video, the fact that Jeana was spamed and hit with over 200+ hits of “Hey baby ( *in a deep scary voice [i can only imagine]) show me your tits! )
*Um… plus, not to mention, that there profile picture had a none other than fack picture of a huge co*k, i mean pe**$…??
crap!!!!
I canceled as soon as she(Jeana) got a letter from some bitch stating, “you need to help us filter out these nice people”.
Over the weekend, well, Sunday night I stayed at the Stratosphere “resort”. At least that’s what they are calling it. I think it should be renamed to the Tallest Tower in the crappiest location; But.. our rooms look worse than a motel 6 built in 1964 and smell like 9 dude’s drank to much and puked in the sink and shower! oh and they should trademark that, so lets add a little ™, lol.
But seriously, you already know what I really think of the place. Disgusting, just DON’T ever stay there, no matter how cheap it is… eeewww.
I went to the Blog World Expo which was held in Las Vegas from the 19th-21st. I only made it to the last day. My morning started out at 4am at home, driving to pick my girlfriend up from work and then spending the morning on highway 15 to Vegas! We got to Vegas at around 9:30am just enough time to grab a quick bite before the expo.
Once inside we spent most of the morning browsing inside the exhibits hall. We came across many company’s I have heard of and a lot that I had not. One thing for sure, the hall was filled with Widget Application, like crazy!
Out of the whole exhibit there were only a handful of company’s that stood out to me. And I will tell you about a few of them now.
In no particular order…
OutBrain..Integrate ratings and personalized recommendations, quickly and free.
TechSmithCapture, edit, and share exactly what you see on your screen.
ZannelA free mobile video and photo blogging communitySee post!
Anyway, those are a few of the company’s which I spent a good deal of time talking with. And I liked there ideas and there service.
Oh and I must say that Woopra, is quite the amazing Analytics application! And… thanks Lorelle for giving me a awesome complex speech about the application.
So since I have been bake there have been a lot of changes. Well I think I can go on for ever about what has and hasn’t changed. But I think I will just create a quick like for myself and make it easy.
The new WordPress 2.6.1 release, like I said.
The Olympics are almost over.
Hmm, I thought there was more… Maybe I am tired and forgot stuff… yeah, I’ll get back to this later.
P.S. My brain still feels like its on vacation.. I need a reality check.
I was traveling South on the 405 freeway when I passed Nordhoff St when a silver Acura Integra passed by me in the carpool lane. Just at the rear of the car passed me the bumper somehow disconnected from the car which sent the car into a fish tail. I had about 100 feet, where I slammed on my brakes and the Acura veered right spinning into 180° facing oncoming traffic, he then spun 5 lanes to the right shoulder somehow avoiding the somewhat heavy traffic and flipped off the rail over onto the on ramp of Nordhoff St. Damn! I think I almost died, hopefully they driver and passenger are OK.
So I am sure that every one in southern California felt the quake, but I was totally passed out sleeping at 11:42am. Waking up to my bed shaking and my girlfriend asking “whats going on”. I replied it was our four pound chihuahua “Keiki”, in which she mumbled back “Keiki, stop it”.
That was pure comedy. But really, 5.4 Quake! I felt it all the way down by the beach.
I recently (today) moved some of my furniture around my bedroom, and added a new “five” drawer. The whole thing stuffed the room and I had to move everything around. But the only way I could get it to work was to move my bed under the window and facing the double swing closet doors.
So I no longer see my Insignia 26″ LCD tv. So I think it is time to upgrade to the newer LCD’s that are mountable (because mine was the first generation from 5 years back). Now I have to go on the search for the right size tv to fit in my small wall space above the closet doors to the ceiling.
I have been real busy working on a few different projects, one of them was my own. I had many products left over from my Inebriated Inc. company I closed down last year. Like t-shirts, hats, koolies and misalliance drinking novelties.
With all that stuff pilling up in my grandmother’s garage, I thought it was time to get rid of it. Since the Inebriated Inc site is used for “industry news”, I used another site (just like it); theInebriated.com to house a shopping cart system. You can head on over and check it out!
Since I finished today, I already have plans to load in some real cool stuff from other company’s who make drinking toys and novelties!
So make sure you check it out! Let me know what you think…
I totally wish that I wasn’t going to work a party bus tonight, because Planet of the Apes is playing at the LA Film Festival for FREE tonight. It will be playing outside on a large projection and screen on Broxton Ave.
Okay, if you have never seen the original movie than I suggest you go here and purchase the master piece starring legendary, late Charlton Heston (1923–2008).
How to pay tribute to Charlton Heston, whose career strode from the biblical past of The Ten Commandments to the nightmare future of Soylent Green? In many ways the role as a stranded astronaut in Planet of the Apes was the perfect one for Heston, in that it played off both the steel-jawed authority that he radiated with ease, as well as the tormented sensitivity that often lurked untapped underneath.
It can be difficult to recall the original Apes movie from underneath the sequels, remakes, and TV adaptations, but watched with fresh eyes, it is a head-spinning parable on society-building and prejudice, built around the concept of astronauts who somehow land on a planet where apes rule and men are considered lowly beasts. A cracking sci-fi action pic that has become a cultural touchstone—and still boasts one of the best movie endings ever—Planet of the Apes lives on.

I am currently escaping the heat in Santa Monica. So I headed towards warmer weather in the valley, but, my parents house has insulated walls and a huge A/C unit, not to mention the pool!
But besides the warm weather I was just messing around with my site, and noticed that my favicon had disappeared. I think when I updated the site in April I must have forgot to input the code which looks like this:
Firefox, or even IE7. You can even be daring and go IE8 Beta!
You can easily convert a .gif.jpg or .png file into a .ico file as long as it adheres to the bi-cubic 16×16 pixel rule.
You can also head to favicon.cc and use the easy image drawer and export your .ico file.
For some reason my favicon is not showing up, I’m not sure of what the problem is. But besides that, I changed the icon to an animated .gif. Hopefully I’ll get it working today.
Well, I went down to the AAA office today to renew my insurance on my 2006 Sea Doo RXT! While I was contemplating whether or not I was going to sell the boat before the beginning of the year, well, with gas prices going the way they are. It suddenly turned from 70° to 85° in Santa Monica, and that means that where I would have taken the the vessel out (Pyramid Lake) the temperature was sure to be in the high 90°’s!
Since my RXT is pretty new, like 19 hours total on it, I just wasn’t able to send it away, just yet. It has a few more trips to the lake with me in its life before joining and entertaining a new.
I think I am going to hit up to the lake some time this week! Maybe I will see you there.
Oh, btw my Sea Doo RXT has a SuperCharged 215hp motor! But if you have got the money, I read that this years model has 250hp under its hood or trunk or seat.
Well, UPS is using a “package flow” software program to pre-plot delivery sequences for its 95,000 vehicles. It may sound like over thinking, but the results are staggering: Joel Lovell reports that UPS lopped off some 28.5 million miles from its delivery routes last year thanks to the software, saving 3 million gallons of fuel and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by close to 69 million pounds. We have to wonder: If such a strategy can yield this kind of savings for UPS, what can it do for the average person? How much fuel, time, and sanity might we save in a year of driving if we pre-planned errand-running to minimize (or even eliminate) left-hand turns?
I just finished my initial design and layout of the website: visitmontanaave.com, which is a directory of businesses in the Montana Ave. neighborhood of Santa Monica. It stretches from 20th street all the way to the ocean, lined with retail, food and more. There are already many sites out there that showcase Montana Ave. I am just doing it a little different and more simple.
Since I love Wordpress so much, I used it as the Content Management System for the site, and it works awesome! The site showcases such businesses like every body’s favorite “Starbucks.” which is located on Montana Ave. and 14th.
