Socal Earthquake

So I am sure that every one in southern California felt the quake, but I was totally passed out sleeping at 11:42am. Waking up to my bed shaking and my girlfriend asking “whats going on”. I replied it was our four pound chihuahua “Keiki”, in which she mumbled back “Keiki, stop it”.

:) That was pure comedy. But really, 5.4 Quake! I felt it all the way down by the beach.

Alienware for sale

Alienware Aurora Laptop

Before I upgraded to my current laptop (Dell XPS M1530) I had a beastly and powerful blue monster. Also known as an Alienware. Yes, the younger sibling of Dell computers, thought at the time of my purchase of the Alienware laptop they were not part of the Dell family.

But anyway, the computer has been sitting under my bed for quite some time now. Ever since getting it back from the Alienware service department just before warranty ran out.

I posted my Alienware on eBay. So here is the link:

The right LCD

I recently (today) moved some of my furniture around my bedroom, and added a new “five” drawer. The whole thing stuffed the room and I had to move everything around. But the only way I could get it to work was to move my bed under the window and facing the double swing closet doors. :(

So I no longer see my Insignia 26″ LCD tv. So I think it is time to upgrade to the newer LCD’s that are mountable (because mine was the first generation from 5 years back). Now I have to go on the search for the right size tv to fit in my small wall space above the closet doors to the ceiling.

I will let you know what pans out..

WordPress 2.6.1

I think anyone who is waiting or wanting to upgrade there WP blog to the latest version (2.6) should hold out for just a bit longer till they release an update. Then once 2.6.1 has been released it would be safe to download and upgrade before the release of the next version 2.7!

By the numbers

WordPress 2.6 - By the Numbers

Now that we’re now 10 days into the release of version 2.6 of WordPress, it’d be interesting to look at a few of the numbers around it.

  • There have been around 23 thousand downloads per day. (Of just the English version.)
  • According to the update system there are 201 thousand blogs using 2.6 already.
  • That’s about 9% of all known WordPress.org blogs in 10 days.
  • The video in the announcement post has been viewed 665,080 times.
  • There have been over 300 themes submitted to the new Theme directory, which launched just 6 days ago.
  • In the same period (10 days) there were 579,871 downloads of 2,527 plugins.

I imagine 2.6 adoption will pick up after the 2.6.1 release — a lot of people wait for the .1 before upgrading.

How are we celebrating? By working on 2.7!

It should be a fun release both for the features we have planned and also because it might incorporate some of the aspects of Crazyhorse, our experimental bizarro world dev branch which we’re laser-eye-testing in NYC next week. (700 blogs are running 2.7 already.)

Firefox Day?

Firefox 3

How, oh how on earth did I miss this. June 17th was “download Firefox 3″ day..

They set a Guinness World Record on the 18th for most software downloads in a 24 hour period of “8,002,530″!!! DAMN!

I say again, how on earth did I miss this one, I love FF but I am still far behind then on the times. Just loathing in Firefox 2, well I think it is time to update this sexy beast!

The Dark Knight

I think you should go see the movie, but I am guessing by the numbers far surpassing $155 million that you probably already have, good!

..wait, how about on the IMAX? Sold out! Still? Yeah I haven’t either, soon enough!

The Inebriated Store

The Inebriated Store

I have been real busy working on a few different projects, one of them was my own. I had many products left over from my Inebriated Inc. company I closed down last year. Like t-shirts, hats, koolies and misalliance drinking novelties.

With all that stuff pilling up in my grandmother’s garage, I thought it was time to get rid of it. Since the Inebriated Inc site is used for “industry news”, I used another site (just like it); theInebriated.com to house a shopping cart system. You can head on over and check it out!

Since I finished today, I already have plans to load in some real cool stuff from other company’s who make drinking toys and novelties!

So make sure you check it out! Let me know what you think…

WordPress 2.6

WordPress Version 2.6

The new WordPress, version 2.6 released yesterday. I have yet to upgrade to the new version on any of my 5 or 6 blogs. But I am sure going to download the final release copy and try out the new features! I had a copy of 2.6 Beta 3 installed on my InebriatedInc.com blog.

I had some issues with Beta 3, but I am sure that the new copy with be mostly problem free. So I will get a copy this weekend and try it out on one of my sites; maybe on my portfolio?

Handcock

Hancock Movie

I am going to head into Century City tonight and see the movie before it opens. Well, I am sure alot of people are going to do that, since LA is known for its midnight showing of movies the night before. Even though we are going to see the showing at 10pm, and there showing it as early as 6pm?

I will have to let you know what I think of the film later on tonight or in the morning!

Hancock Fitovers Glasses I saw the 9:30 show and I thought it was a pretty good movie, it had a little comedy and some good animations and graphics when Hancock was flying about screwing shit up.

Oh, and Hancock has quite the collection of sunglasses, I wouldn’t mind a pair or two of them. My favorite have to be the pair of Fitovers Eyewear which you can see top left.

Christian Dior Mist Black Sunglasses
And then there were the Dior’s. But of course Hancock would have to have some of the most expensive glasses out there at $250, even though Will has such a huge face, the glasses still expand over.
