I must have been really really bored one afternoon last week. Because I spent like 45 min making lunch, and this totally awesome stop animation video of the process, which would normally take about 10 minutes. My girlfriend was way hungry and wondered why it took so long, it was totally worth it!
It started out with a very nice cut a ahi tuna, some bread baked to an almost cracker finish, basil and some tomato. Check it out and laugh away!
I totally wish that I wasn’t going to work a party bus tonight, because Planet of the Apes is playing at the LA Film Festival for FREE tonight. It will be playing outside on a large projection and screen on Broxton Ave.
Okay, if you have never seen the original movie than I suggest you go here and purchase the master piece starring legendary, late Charlton Heston (1923–2008).
How to pay tribute to Charlton Heston, whose career strode from the biblical past of The Ten Commandments to the nightmare future of Soylent Green? In many ways the role as a stranded astronaut in Planet of the Apes was the perfect one for Heston, in that it played off both the steel-jawed authority that he radiated with ease, as well as the tormented sensitivity that often lurked untapped underneath.
It can be difficult to recall the original Apes movie from underneath the sequels, remakes, and TV adaptations, but watched with fresh eyes, it is a head-spinning parable on society-building and prejudice, built around the concept of astronauts who somehow land on a planet where apes rule and men are considered lowly beasts. A cracking sci-fi action pic that has become a cultural touchstone—and still boasts one of the best movie endings ever—Planet of the Apes lives on.

Well apparently the show aired last Thursday the 12th of June, but MTV was promoting the season premier as this Thursday the 19th. And although yesterdays show was the premeir there was stuff missing you didn’t know unless you watched the week before, whats up with that MTV?
But anyway, I was a huge fan of the Jabawakeez from the start of the first season, and I think I already know who is going to be the big dance crew of this season. Are you ready for it? Okay, I think the number one crew for season 2 will be “Super Cr3w”.
So I guess I will be watching this season, will you? I wonder if I am going to be write about this one?
Only time will tell…
I was waiting for the video to be approved by Revver. So watch this video, I just got the end of a male Zebra trying to get some tail from one of the 4 females. She said, “NOT!” in Zebra language…
I had someone ask me what the song was on the show “So You Think You Can Dance” also known as “SYTYCD”. He was referring to Robert Muraines sick pop and lock dance to Swizz Beatz song “It Me”. Any one of those links will open up iTunes if you have it installed. If you don’t have iTunes, you can look on Amazon.com for the song, here, as well.
Okay, I have tried this recipe once and it was awesome!! I have to thank Alton Brown from Good Eats on the Food Network for this one. Look at the recipe below:
12 whole chicken wings
1 (6-ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 teaspoons honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Place a 6-quart saucepan with a steamer basket and 1 inch of water in the bottom, over high heat, cover and bring to a boil.
Remove the tips of the wings and discard or save for making stock. Using kitchen shears, or a knife, separate the wings at the joint. Place the wings into the steamer basket, cover, reduce the heat to medium and steam for 10 minutes. Remove the wings from the basket and carefully pat dry. Lay the wings out on a cooling rack set in a half sheet pan lined with paper towels and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Replace the paper towels with parchment paper. Roast on the middle rack of the oven for 20 minutes. Turn the wings over and cook another 20 minutes or until meat is cooked through and the skin is golden brown.
During the last 20 minutes of cooking the chicken, place the orange juice concentrate, hoisin sauce, honey, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and red pepper flakes into a small saucepan, stir to combine and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Reduce the mixture to about 1/2 cup, approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to cool at least 5 minutes.
Remove the wings from the oven and transfer to a large mixing bowl along with the glaze and toss to coat. Serve warm.
Okay, got that? Good!
Now I am going to tell you this is what you are going to want for dinner tonight!!
I am currently escaping the heat in Santa Monica. So I headed towards warmer weather in the valley, but, my parents house has insulated walls and a huge A/C unit, not to mention the pool!
But besides the warm weather I was just messing around with my site, and noticed that my favicon had disappeared. I think when I updated the site in April I must have forgot to input the code which looks like this:
Firefox, or even IE7. You can even be daring and go IE8 Beta!
You can easily convert a .gif.jpg or .png file into a .ico file as long as it adheres to the bi-cubic 16×16 pixel rule.
You can also head to favicon.cc and use the easy image drawer and export your .ico file.
For some reason my favicon is not showing up, I’m not sure of what the problem is. But besides that, I changed the icon to an animated .gif. Hopefully I’ll get it working today.
So, I just heard that some of the member from Hell Yeah are going to reform there original kick ass band Nothingface! I am so exited, I love Nothingface, such a huge fan! Hell Yeah rocks as well, and while there is nothing on the Nothingface website, exept for a link to the Hell Yeah page, It will be worth the eight or so year(s) wait?!
Well, I went down to the AAA office today to renew my insurance on my 2006 Sea Doo RXT! While I was contemplating whether or not I was going to sell the boat before the beginning of the year, well, with gas prices going the way they are. It suddenly turned from 70° to 85° in Santa Monica, and that means that where I would have taken the the vessel out (Pyramid Lake) the temperature was sure to be in the high 90°’s!
Since my RXT is pretty new, like 19 hours total on it, I just wasn’t able to send it away, just yet. It has a few more trips to the lake with me in its life before joining and entertaining a new.
I think I am going to hit up to the lake some time this week! Maybe I will see you there.
Oh, btw my Sea Doo RXT has a SuperCharged 215hp motor! But if you have got the money, I read that this years model has 250hp under its hood or trunk or seat.
Well, UPS is using a “package flow” software program to pre-plot delivery sequences for its 95,000 vehicles. It may sound like over thinking, but the results are staggering: Joel Lovell reports that UPS lopped off some 28.5 million miles from its delivery routes last year thanks to the software, saving 3 million gallons of fuel and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by close to 69 million pounds. We have to wonder: If such a strategy can yield this kind of savings for UPS, what can it do for the average person? How much fuel, time, and sanity might we save in a year of driving if we pre-planned errand-running to minimize (or even eliminate) left-hand turns?
Okay, since my initial launch of this site, I have implemented the “I Follow” rule. And while I am not going to change that, some people, all be it “spammers” are aggressively taking advantage of bloggers who show the “I Follow” tag or plugin. So I did a search for a newer more sophisticated plugins, and came across Lucia’s Linky Love.
Filled with powerful anomalies to disregard one time posties looking for a page rank gain. At the bottom of every page you will see the “LLL” tag.
Here is a list of the features:
Encourages good comments: Dofollows are added to the author “name†and links in comment text after a commenter leaves some minimum number of comments. The blogger can set this minimum number to anything between 3 and 10. This encourages regular visitors to comment, but discourages spammers by forcing them to visit your blog many times before they get “dofollowsâ€.
Encourages links. Dofollows are added to trackbacks and pingbacks only after the blog author has left some minimum number of comments, trackbacks or pingbacks. This discourages scrapper sites from sending you spammy trackbacks but rewards real bloggers for linking you.
Gives peace of mind. Dofollows will not be added to comments left more than 14 days after you published your most recent post. This is a safety feature that prevents your blog from becoming a link farm should you ever be unexpectedly absent from your blog due to illness or any other major life event.
Thwarts overly aggressive SEO types. The blogger may refuse “dofollows†to “names†that contain too many characters. This can be used to avoid giving “dofollows†to commenters who claim their name is “cashmere dog sweaterâ€.
Gives you more control over dofollow / nofollow options. As is always the case, the blogger can also delete the comment, report the comment to Akismet or delete the name or url. That’s good for truly spammy comments. But with Lucia’s Linky Love, you get another, less drastic, option. You manually prevent “dofollow†but still show the comment url and name by deleting the user email address when editing the comment. This lets you permit borderline visitors continue to comment, but deprive them of “dofollows†until they behave the way you like visitors to behave.
Living here in Santa Monica is pretty nice, I am 18 blocks from the beach, but don’t have access to a pool, or yard for that matter.
But some folks around here don’t seem to mind. Well or they are just too lazy to head on down to the beach to get there tan on! I took my dogs out side and came across a neighbor laying on the sidewalk grass, stomach first, tanning. I am all for dark tan skin in the summer, but I would at least like a pool and lounge chair to lay on. Maybe even a blended cocktail..
So The Incredible Hulk comes out tonight at midnight, and I am not knowing if I am exited enough to see it, well at least see it at midnight. The first Hulk movie was a flop and didn’t win very many Marvel fans over.
But then again it was pre 64bit graphics and the whole change in Mega Blockbuster Marvel films. I will have to think about this one for a while, and get back to you if I go or not.
I went to the Los Angeles Zoo today, I haven’t been there in about 6 years. Looks about the same, though the African Safari for the elephants was all torn apart and under serious renovations. Check out some of the photo’s that my girlfriend took.
